By Dauphne du Maurier.
Directed by Noel Preston-Jones.
Love at high tide. In a Cornish harbour-side house lives the gifted, beautiful widow Stella. When Cherry, Stella’s daughter, brings her artist husband Evan home for the first time, stella is shocked by the bohemian incompleteness of their marriage. She finds herself attracted to Evan and soon they are clearly in love, although much is left unspoken. How can a mother admit to such feelings or contemplate their impact?
Daphne du Maurier weaves a compelling drama in this play she wrote in 1948.
