Life ain’t too good for the Kneebones up United Downs. The family are skint. The debtors are closing in. The future’s secure as an uncapped mine shaft.
With ‘er two troublesome brothers at each other’s throats, it’s up to Maddy to save the day. Her only hope? To win the United Downs Boneshaker stock car race. But first she needs to fix up her father’s old wheels – the legendary Kneebone Cadillac. Soon, Maddy’s impossible plan sets the whole community on a collision course for chaos!
The Kneebone Cadillac is a careening new Cornish comedy from the team who brought you Grand Guignol, Horse Piss For Blood, and this year’s Drum hit, 49 Donkeys Hanged.

Writers Response Night
To celebrate the opening of Carl Grose’s The Kneebone Cadillac we’re offering local writers a fantastic opportunity to see their work performed on the Drum stage at the Theatre Royal Plymouth.
We’re inviting local playwrights to attend the second preview of The Kneebone Cadillac, before submitting a short piece of writing, responding to the play. Successful submissions will then be performed in the Drum Theatre the following week.
Local Playwrights will be invited to the second preview of The Kneebone Cadillac on Friday the 16th of November at 7.45pm.
Playwrights will then be given 48 hours to write a response piece with a submission deadline of midnight on Sunday the 18th of November.
Successful writers will be notified on Wednesday 21st November.
Successful submissions will then be rehearsed the following week.
Successful submissions will be performed on Thursday the 29th of November after the evening’s performance of The Kneebone Cadillac. Pieces will be performed by members of the cast from The Kneebone Cadillac.
All writers who submit pieces will be invited the response night and unsuccessful writers will be offered brief written feedback.
