The Lab

IdeasLAB is Theatre Royal Plymouth’s platform for the sharing and development of new work, taking place once per season.

The evening is an opportunity for artists and companies to try out some brand new ideas in front of an audience and receive feedback.

This time round we have 4 exciting, South-West based acts who will all be presenting 15 minutes extracts of their work.

Here’s a taste of what’s on offer:

Alex Robins presents Bear With Me, an exploration on the role and responsibility of the writer within plays, Efferus Collective share a new dance piece looking at proprioception and our sixth sense, Bristol-based Full Rogue will share an extract from their kaleidoscopic and time-bending new show, Wild Swimming: A Brief and Benighted History and Exeter-based poet Chris White and Poppy Pedder present Kin which explores how you can still feel isolation even in the closest of friendships.

It promises to be an eclectic and vibrant evening, with the unique opportunity to see shows at the very beginning of their creative journey.

If you would like to to be part of the next IdeasLAB please keep an eye on our social media channels for the next call out for applications. Your idea must be for a new piece of work, it must not previously have been produced.
