Following his sell-out success with Needles and Opium at The Barbican, London in 2016, internationally renowned director and performer Robert Lepage brings his critically-acclaimed The Far Side of The Moon to Plymouth..
This visually stunning production tells the story of two estranged brothers brought together by their mother’s death. Phillipe; an introvert philosopher, looking to the stars for meaning in the universe; and his successful brother, Andre, who takes a much more pragmatic view on interplanetary mysteries.
Drawing parallels between their fraternal bitterness and the competition between the Soviets and Americans during the space race, Phillipe and Andre’s childhood memories act as touchstones for this beautiful and quirky one-man show in a witty exploration of one of the great mysteries of our time.
Performed by Yves Jacques and punctuated by Laurie Anderson’s otherworldly score, The Far Side of the Moon takes audiences on a spellbinding, funny and technically exquisite journey, highlighting the poetry that sometimes hides in human life.
This epic production will be performed in only three UK cities, offering a unique opportunity for audiences outside of London to experience this unparalleled work.
