“We’d love to tell you about Jacques the fatalist and his Master, by Denis Diderot, one of the best books ever written, but we’re having problems.”

Where the world is going, that’s where we’re going is the first, award winning show by one of Belgium’s hottest young theatre companies – Hof van Eede. Sisters Louise and And Van den Eede took Diderot’s novel as a starting point, and ended up embracing the vulnerability of language in a deliciously whimsical, funny and moving conversation between a man and a woman, “who need to go somewhere else, urgently”.

Presented with the Theatre Royal Plymouth following sell-out performances across Belgium and the Netherlands, where it was recipient of the prestigious TAZ-KBC Award for Young Theatre. The production received its British premiere as part of the Big in Belgium 2014 season at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe where it charmed audiences and received critical acclaim.
