Score will be performed as part of an exciting new venture in South West theatre, the very first Plymouth Fringe Festival.

Hannah is an X Factor aficionado with a mile-a-minute mouth, a ten year-old daughter and a low-level Heroin habit. Her childhood friend, Kirsty, is pulled along in her slipstream days before giving birth.

Two years later they meet at a child contact centre. Hannah’s in recovery, Kirsty’s in anger management. Hannah joins a choir to replace one kind of score with another, but she’s the last person Kirsty wants to harmonise with. Life without a habit is far from routine…

Score is a play with acapella arrangements of noughties hits inspired by interviews with mums in recovery who regained kids from care. Score sold out it’s last night at The Wardrobe Theatre through word of mouth.

“A wonderfully assured piece of theatre…Both actors have powerful soulful voices. Score is a moving and honest rendition of the harmonies and counterpoints of female friendship” ****, Exeunt

“Lucy Bell’s tight script rarely veers off course. Laugh-out-loud lines sit unapologetically beside the frustration of witnessing these two young women trying to save each other, but never quite managing to be in the same place at the same time.” ****, The Public Reviews

Running Time: 1 hour 10 minutes
Recommended for everyone aged 14+
