The Drum

“No clothes, no belongings, no sign of struggle, no tyre tracks. No matches on any missing persons database. Like she just dropped out of the sky”

This year the People’s Company brings Tolstoy’s short story, What Men Live By, to life. In this modern retelling, when a young mute woman is found abandoned on nearby moorland, lines are drawn between a cynical community looking for a scapegoat and an ageing recluse given a miraculous last chance to cure his loneliness.

The Theatre Royal Plymouth’s People’s Company creates opportunities for anyone over the age of 18 to participate in theatre, including the chance to perform in The Drum.

Mended is directed by the Theatre Royal Plymouth’s Staff Director, Lee Hart.
