Infinity Pool will be performed as part of an exciting new venture in South West theatre, the very first Plymouth Fringe Festival.

The award-winning writer Bea Roberts tells a love story like no other, using projectors, party rings and PowerPoint.

Inspired by the novel Madame Bovary, Infinity Pool is a tender and truthful comedy of dreaming and upgrading told through a unique collage of projection and music.

Emails unopened, cup-a-soup undrunk, a secret in the stock room; Emma Barnicott’s life is leaking as she pines for a world beyond her trading estate office. When she meets a man online who wants to talk to her about more than boilers and two port valves, Emma must decide if the chance of a fantastic love is worth trading for an imperfect life – or will there always be dead woodlice in the infinity pool?

Winner of the Theatre 503 International Playwriting award Bea Roberts brings this ground-breaking comedy to Tobacco Factory Theatres in a new collaboration with Director in Residence Nik Partridge and BBC Design Fellow Max Johns.

“Engaging and funny…not so much a one woman show as a no woman show, Roberts scurries to and fro…part tech operator, part foley artist, part mime she creates an immersive blend of projection and sound” Bristol 24/7

“Manages to be both gloriously timeless and original” David Lockwood, BikeShed Theatre

“Frankly extraordinary…a really clever and witty show that I guarantee will be like nothing you’ve seen before” Miriam Battye, Tap Tap Theatre
