Sanctuary n.
1. Refuge or safety from pursuit, persecution or other danger.
2. Nature reserve, zoo, wildlife park.

Seven young people are living out their formative years in a secure underground bunker, protected from the brutal civil war that rages overhead. Their only contact with society is through the tannoy that constantly crackles into their world. When that voice stops without warning, the seven must fill the silence for themselves. But as time passes, they soon find themselves trapped in a labyrinth of their own making.

A provocative new play, Sanctuary is an exploration of human relationships and the pursuit of order in a disordered world.

Sanctuary has been created entirely by the Theatre Royal Plymouth’s new Lab Company which aims to support and develop early career theatre makers.
