Are you passionate about theatre and interested in taking a closer look? Maybe you love live performance, enjoy crafting an opinion on what you’ve seen, and sharing it with others through blogs or vlogs.
Theatre Royal Plymouth is offering an opportunity for a small group of people who’d like to learn more about theatre and would relish the chance to practise crafting a written response to it. You’ll have the chance to review shows and write blog posts about your experiences. You don’t need to have any previous critical writing experience, just enthusiasm for live performance and an interest in how to craft an opinion and share it with others.
During the programme, which runs from April to October, you will have the chance to attend a combination of events, talks, workshops and performances that will help you to develop your writing skills and build your confidence.
These may include:
• attending a press night and reviewing the show
• a workshop with a theatre blogger and critic
• a tour of the TR2 workshops where sets are built
• a behind the scenes look at a production that’s on the TRP stage
• guest speakers from TRP, based on your interests
This is a free programme and you will be provided with tickets for any shows you are invited to review.
