In collaboration with The Box, Plymouth.
During the week commencing the 27th May there will be 4 opportunities to attend a Journeys Heritage Workshop. This workshop is a unique opportunity to get involved with an activity that is being led in collaboration with Theatre Royal Plymouth and The Box.
Associate Professor from the University of Plymouth, Dr Kathryn Gray – alongside The Box’s Lizzie Hilton and TRP’s Community Development Producer, Alex Ogando – will be exploring the many varying points of view surrounding the history of the journey of the Mayflower ship in 1620 using historical resources, written accounts, and replica artefacts as starting points for practical discussions. You are invited to join us in this exploration, focusing firstly on what we know about some of the people involved in the initial journey overseas, interpreting the evidence whilst imagining the elements we do not know through practical discussion and creative tasks.
This is the first in a series of Journeys Heritage Workshops that will take place across the city over the Summer 2019. If you are interested in finding out more about Mayflower 400, would like to take part in a fun, thought-provoking workshop that combines history and creativity, please come along to one of our free workshops:
