The Funky Llama Effect

The Funky Llama Effect Arts Development Training is for community groups who are either already running or interested in running a creative arts group with adults with an experience of Learning Disability but who need skills development, new strategies or resource material to broaden their reach or range of work.

I have learnt and gained so much from the mentoring I received through Funky Llama Effect. My abunDANCE group is now established and my line manager ensures that myself and my support are available for this session each week. Of course the ones who have benefited most from this process have been my Service Users some of which have unexpectedly shone and sparkled and I have seen their confidence grow

Brendan Weaver, Suppor Worker

The Funky Llama Effect offers…

  • Support and training to help deliver the performing arts in community settings
  • Advice and strategies for extending and enhancing performing arts activities
  • New ideas and resources for existing groups
  • Networks of like minded community practitioners

The Funky Llama Effect aims to increase the number of inclusive performing arts activities in and around Plymouth and to sustain them beyond the life of Funky Llama. The way in which people and organisations are supported to deliver new activity will vary from service to service and in negotiation with arts Funky Llama practitioners.

We are proud to support other creative community initiatives such as Far Flung Dance Theatre Company and previously Animate Theatre.
