The day has arrived. Messenger, the UK’s largest cast bronze sculpture, is on her way to her new home outside Theatre Royal in Plymouth.
Earlier this morning she was led out to Plymouth Breakwater on a barge, returning across the Sound at sunrise. She has now arrived at Millbay Docks where she will be craned onto a low-loader, before she begins her journey through the city centre.
Messenger will then be driven at walking pace on a route taking her from Millbay Docks, along Millbay Road, up Royal Parade and back down the other side to outside the Theatre Royal Plymouth.
Work will take place over the next couple of days to finish installation before the site is cleared and preparations are made for her final reveal early evening Friday, March 22.
