David Mamet’s 1984 Pulitzer Prize-winning ode to American con-artistry, Glengarry Glen Ross arrives at Theatre Royal Plymouth on the 25th of February.
This ground-breaking modern classic has won every major dramatic award on Broadway and the West End, including the 1983 Olivier Award for Best Play and the 1984 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, and was later adapted by David Mamet for the 1992 film starring Jack Lemmon and Al Pacino. At a time of fierce debate about the American Dream and what it represents, Glengarry Glen Ross is a lacerating satire for modern society.
The play follows the lives of four unethical Chicago real estate agents who are prepared to go to any lengths (legal or illegal) to unload undesirable real estate on unwilling prospective buyers.
The play is partly based on Mamet’s experiences working in a Chicago real estate office during the late 1960s.
Well-loved and acclaimed TV and stage stars Nigel Harman and Mark Benton are the deal-chasing cutthroat salesmen in this ‘razor-sharp’ revival of Mamet’s Olivier and Pulitzer Prize-winning masterpiece.
As you know, at the Theatre Royal Plymouth we are committed to bringing top-quality theatre of all kinds to the South West, and this play is no exception.
The tickets are from £10 but there’s no need for us to give you the hard sell because Glengarry Glen Ross isn’t one to miss!
