Ventriloquist Paul Zerdin, who will star alongside Gok Wan in Cinderella at the Theatre Royal Plymouth this Christmas, has won the 10th series of America’s Got Talent.
Paul, who will play Buttons in this year’s panto alongside his loveable side-kick Sam, has helped make ventriloquism cool again! From his appearances on the Royal Variety Performance to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, to India’s comedy circuit, Montreal’s Just For Laughs and his own UK tours, his fresh twist on this traditional comedy art has impressed everyone.
The UK’s – and now America’s – number one ventriloquist’s career has included appearances on everything from the Royal Variety Performance to numerous television programmes including Good Morning Britain, BBC’s The One Show, Sky News and Jason Manford’s Comedy Rocks.
Michael Harrison, managing director of Qdos Entertainment, producers of Cinderella, and executive producer of the show, said:
“I am delighted that Paul’s immense talent has been recognised on the international stage. His triumph on America’s Got Talent, and the huge public following he has received, is testament to his skill as a world-class entertainer. The combination of Gok and Paul, alongside a top drawer production means that Plymouth audiences are in for a real magical pantomime this festive season.”
Cinderella carries the Theatre Royal Plymouth’s hallmark of outstanding entertainment for all ages and features all of the pantomime ingredients Plymouth audiences have come to expect; a glittering large-scale production packed with special effects, family-friendly comedy and world-class production values.
