Hello! Those winter days are slowly drawing to a close, and we are already half way through our Spring Term, which is a perfect time to tell you all about the wonderful things members of the Young Company have been up to so far!

Summer Production Development Weekend

In January, four Young Company members, Mitchell Siddons, Rylan Beech, Hollie Diplock and Alice Cadmore, joined Jane Pawson and Kev Johnson for a trip to The Royal and Derngate Theatre in Northampton to workshop the Summer Production with members of the youth theatres at the Royal and Derngate and the West Yorkshire Playhouse. They worked with the writer, Oladipo Agbolague, to help to shape the play. Hollie even managed to give the play its title – Immune. It was a brilliant weekend, the play is set to be unlike anything we’ve produced before, you’ll have to wait for the auditions (in June) to find out more!

The Half Girl Rehearsals

After an amazing set of auditions we now have our cast for The Half Girl Spring Production in The Drum and rehearsals are now underway. We are still at the early stages, but the group have been working really hard with Lee, the Director, to start creating the world of the play. It’s going to be a magical show, so don’t forget to book your tickets.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time Workshop Offer

We are offering Young Company members aged 14 – 21 the chance to get involved with a unique package deal. We have 24 places available to attend the show’s Page to Stage, Performance a Workshop, with world class theatre company Frantic Assembly. In May, The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas makes its way to the Lyric stage and there is an opportunity for some Young Company members to be involved with the production as extras. Keep an eye out on your emails for more information about this exciting offer.

We have lots of one-off workshops that take place over the year, and this term we have had an Audition Workshop and a Playwriting Workshop, both have been really successful. If there are any specialist or one-off workshops that you would like to see in the future please do let us know. We would love to hear your ideas!
