The Theatre Royal Plymouth is delighted to announce that the national tour of Cameron Mackintosh’s spectacular new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s _*The Phantom of the Opera *_premieres at the Theatre Royal Plymouth next spring and will run from Saturday 25 February until Saturday 31 March 2012.
The Phantom of the Opera is a Cameron Mackintosh and the Really Useful Theatre Company production.
_*The Phantom of the Opera *_celebrates its 25th Anniversary this year. It opened at Her Majesty’s Theatre in 1986, and there have been dozen of productions across the world since. Andrew Lloyd Webber’s mesmerising score along with jaw-dropping scenery and breathtaking special effects magically combine to bring this tragic love story to life.
Chief Executive Adrian Vinken said, “This anniversary touring production of _*The Phantom of the Opera *_is a tremendous opportunity for the Theatre Royal to consolidate its long standing relationships with both Cameron Mackintosh and Andrew Lloyd Webber. We are very proud that once again such a major new production will be built and launched in Plymouth.”
