The Autumn Season at the Drum has got underway with a special welcome from Theatre Royal Artistic Director Simon Stokes at the opening night of Operation Greenfield, the first Drum show of the season.
There’s a wide range of pieces at the Drum this Autumn including three co-productions, ranging from a brand new piece with Frantic Assembly to controversial theatre with Belgian company Ontroerend Goed.
The first co-production with Frantic Assembly is Lovesong, which runs from Friday 10 September until Saturday 15 October.Written by Abi Morgan, whose film and television credits include The Hour _and the forthcoming film _The Iron Lady, _*Lovesong *_intertwines a couple in their 20s with the same couple a lifetime later.
The Drum Theatre is also working with Ontroerend Goed on one of the most talked about shows at this year’s Edinburgh Festival.Audience examines how people behave when they’re surrounded by other people, by watching how you, the audience, behave.Whether you join in or not is up to you.You can see it from Wednesday 2 until Saturday 12 November.
And Chris Goode is returning with a Drum Theatre production, Keep Breathing.He examines what can be said in one breath.After inviting individuals from all over the world to say anything on any topic, as long as it can be completed in one breath, a network is revealed connecting the performer, authors and the audience.He’s at the Drum from Wednesday 16 until Saturday 26 November.
