Rescue Dog In The Spotlight

Posted on

A resident at Gables Farm Cats’ and Dogs’ Home is getting to be a star for a week, thanks to the Theatre Royal Plymouth.

Unlucky Larry hit the headlines recently after arriving at Gables Farm in appalling condition. He had been suffering from Sarcoptic Mange, lost most of his hair and had open sores all over his body.

He has now made a full recovery, and is waiting to go to his new home.

In the meantime, he’s taking to the stage and starring in Five Blue Haired Ladies Sitting OnA Green Park Bench, which runs at the Theatre Royal until Saturday 21 May. He will appear in each show as Lorraine Chase’s pet, so will be seen by hundreds.

Katie Barkell, Marketing and Fundraising Officer at Gables Farm said, “ When we were approached by the Theatre Royal and asked if one of our dogs could star in their show we were over the moon, it is such a fantastic opportunity for our dogs. We hope that this will help to highlight the plight od rescue dogs and it will also show what fantastic pets they can be.”
