The cast from Richard Cameron’s The Horse Marines took to the water recently for some hands on experience in handling a barge.

The skipper of the Tarporley, a 1937 original working narrow boat which operates on the Regents Canal in London, took the actors through their paces – steering the barge, opening and closing locks and even towing the barge from the towpath. All will be invaluable experience for Leanne Best, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, Edward Peel and Alan Morrissey in their portrayal of the epic canal journey which is retold in Richard Cameron’s new play.

The Horse Marines runs in the Drum Theatre from Thursday 6 November to Saturday 22 November with performances starting at 7.45pm. All seats are 12 and can be booked at the box office on 01752 267222 or click here.
