Theatre Royal (Plymouth) Ltd today (Tuesday 8 July) announced the appointment of Sir Michael Lickiss as the new Chairman of the Theatre Royal Plymouth and Plymouth Pavilions.
Sir Michael Lickiss is a chartered accountant and former Senior Partner of Grant Thornton (1991-1994). After moving to the South West, Sir Michael was appointed the first Chairman of the South West of England Regional Development Agency (1998-2002) and in 2003, was appointed Chairman of the British Tourist Authority (visit Britain), a position he held for two years. Sir Michael is currently President of the Royal Cornwall Polytechnic Society and an Advisor for University College Falmouth.
Sir Michael will be taking over the role from Peter Vosper, who for the last year has been acting Chairman for Theatre Royal (Plymouth) Ltd. Peter Vosper will remain on the Board for the company.

I am confident the leadership of the Board, in its role of protecting and furthering the development of the Theatre Royal and Plymouth Pavilions, will be in very good hands.”

The relevance of the arts and leisure for a city such as Plymouth is undeniably important and I am looking forward to contributing to and continuing the ongoing success of both the Theatre Royal and Plymouth Pavilions.”
