Simon Callow portrays the controversial German composer in his new one-man show, Inside Wagner’s Head.
Following the hugely successful one-man show Being Shakespeare, Olivier Award winning actor Simon Callow turns his attention to the life and legacy of one of opera’s most influential and controversial figures, Richard Wagner in this, his bicentenary year. Wagner’s life was fiercely passionate in every aspect: political exile, tempestuous love affairs, provocative writings and not least his astonishing operatic output that revolutionised the stage. Directed by the Theatre Royal Plymouth’s Artistic Director, Simon Stokes, the production comes to Plymouth following a run at the Royal Opera House.
Commissioned by the Royal Opera House as Part of Deloitte Ignite 2013.
