Paquita tells of the homecoming of a young girl to her family, and the celebrations that follow this happy event by Marius Petipa, the master of conveying ideas and emotions through choreography.

Twyla Tharp's Nine Sinatra Songs presents intimate snapshots of seven different couples on a dancefloor, showing the various stages of courtship and how the lovers express their feelings to one another through their movements.

Daphnis and Chloë, by Frederick Ashton, tells of how a young couple's innocent love for one another evolves swiftly into burning passion when the two are suddenly seperated.
