TR2

TR2, our production and education centre, is a truly unique facility. This architecturally
award-winning building contains unrivalled set, costume, prop-making and rehearsal
facilities. Some of our most important and vigorous work is carried out here by
our Creative Learning team, who provide one of the most comprehensive education
and outreach programmes in the UK.

From writing to lighting, drama to design and singing to sound, our Creative Learning programme provides opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to get involved with theatre making.
It is rooted in the belief that creativity and the arts can make a difference to people's lives and help to create healthy and happy communities; we place equal value on learning through as well as in the arts.
We maintain a solid understanding of the local and regional community by delivering much of the programme at grass roots level and in partnership with a range of statutory and voluntary organisations.
The programme is divided into three strands: Education - all work with schools, colleges, universities and other formal education settings; Community - projects with adults and specific communities who would traditionally find it hard to engage with the theatre, and the Young People's Programme - work with young people outside of school hours or a formal education context.
We aim to excite, inspire and enthuse all those who take part in our work!

'Not many organizations in Plymouth can claim to have international standing,
appeal to thousands of people of all ages from across the city and beyond, put
our city on the cultural map and have consistently punched way above their weight
for 26 star spangled years: yet this is the proud achievement of Plymouth's Theatre
Royal, which plays such a major part in our city's cultural life.'
