The Body

The Body

'A well disciplined, hugely entertaining People's Company production, with some outstanding performances' Bill Stone, Plymouth Herald

The Body,
by Nick Darke, with music composed by Kate Polsky, was performed in the Drum Theatre from the 1st-3rd July 2010

First performed in 1983 by the Royal Shakespeare Company, this off the wall play with music is set in Cornwall, where an American air force base sits uneasily next to the local farming community. A dead body found in the mud sparks off a darkly comic series of events as two very different cultures and their politics collide.

Following their success with the Short Play Festival in February '10, the People's Company returned to the Drum with this sell out production of Nick Darke's favourite play.
