Playhouse 2013

Playhouse: a School Play with a difference...

Playhouse is an excellent example of how drama and performance can inspire, support and develop learning skills within the Key Stage 2 Curriculum. Playhouse can support learning in: speaking & listening, PE, history, geography, science and art & design. The project excels in providing high-quality teacher training - and not just in theatre skills, but in supporting dynamic teaching within the classroom. Schools work towards a performance of a brand new play that makes up a festival of work that will take place at TR2 10th - 12th July 2013.

This year the following schools and groups are taking part in the project:

Boringdon Primary School
College Road Primary School
Fourlanesend Primary School
Marlborough Primary School
St Paul's R.C. Primary School
Theatre Royal Plymouth Young Company

They will be performing the following plays:

The Giant Killers
by Oladipo Agboluaje
A Thousand Reasons Not To Fly by Dan Jamieson
The Story of The Seal Wife by Brendan Murray
The Genius by Phil Porter
